What Information We Collect and How We Collect It
Information collected by our website may include:
- Any personal information you submit, such as name, address, email address as part of a account registration, support or sales response request. Your personal information (and your customer information) will be kept strictly confidential. It is never sold, given away, or shared with anyone, unless we’re required to by law.
- Your IP address, referrer, web pages that you visit or any other data normally stored in website logs. This information is not stored in a personally identifiable way.
- Session information stored in cookies that are used to ensure accurate data is correctly retrieved from our services.
- When we send emails to our own registered customers, we will sometimes track who opened and who clicked on these email messages. We record this individual response so we can measure the performance of our email campaigns and better customize our offerings to you.
- We DO NOT hold sensitive payment details such as your credit card number, expiry date and security code in our system.
What we do with your information
We use the information we collect in the following ways:
- Free trial users will receive a series of emails alerting them to the status of the trial. eContact representatives may contact free trial users to inquire about their experience. We may contact you via telephone if you provided us with your phone information; we may use it to contact you with information regarding your account, orders you have placed, or with information regarding your inquiry. We may send you information about additional services that we offer, but we will not rent or sell your contact information to any third parties for their promotional purposes.
- If requested by you, we will send our opt-in email newsletter(s) to email address provided by you. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter or any promotional communications, you may opt-out of receiving them by following the unsubscribe instructions included in each newsletter.
- To paying customers, we will send transactional emails in regards to the management of your account. These transactional emails may include the following: email receipts, account termination notifications, system alerts, free trial reminders, automated responses feedback submissions. Generally, you may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature.
eContact is designed to assist companies with managing their email marketing subscriber lists. Our product allows you to collect information such as first name, last name, and email address from customers and other parties who express an interest in your product or services. Any data you collect is managed by your own privacy policy. However, eContact forbids sending email marketing to any email address that has not directly opted in to your content.
We NEVER use your customer lists. eContact does not rent or sell email lists or any information you supply regarding your list members. At all times, you retain ownership and control of your lists and list information. In fact, the personal information you submit about your customers or other users of your account within our service is governed by your privacy policy and not eContact’s. Therefore, while we safeguard the information within our service and access it only to assist you in managing your account, how the information is used is subject to your privacy policy. However, all eContact users are required to adhere to our anti-spamming policy and comply with CAN-SPAM regulations.
